Ridiculous Fashion Rules

Ridiculous Fashion Rules

Hello guys, welcome to Styledbykeema, your one stop blog for the coolest modest fashion gists. If you’re new here, catch my wide hug! Do not leave without subscribing and dropping a comment! I had lots of laugh compiling this..like..lmao

So leggo, read along for the jabs

1. Fashion Rules should be followed
Ermm..sorry? I’ve known since the days of secondary school that rules are only meant to be broken. Perks:- no one can flog me anymore *sips coffee

2. Black outfits are depressing
Dhur..Do you even know Rasulullah (S.A.W)’s favorite colour for women? Black is Power. Anyways, I guess I’m handling depression just perfectly.. Handle your Black depression meticulously, please.

3. You don’t wear Red to a wedding
Hello..have you ever been to Kano? I laugh in Arewa Aso ebi.

4. Monotone is boring.
I agreed with you 10 years ago, but you know, past tense sturvs. Haute hijab thinks so too!

5. You should not wear baggy outfits.
Let me say this, exploring the world of modest fashion has brought so much light to a range of unusual fashion statements. Baggy is dope. It ticks all the core values so don’t provoke me 😢

6. Tall people should avoid vertical stripes.
Why? Just one reason and I’d be good. To not elongate the bodice? I do not think that is a problem.

7. Curvy women should avoid prints and bright floral patterns.
“Maaaa” Empress of Angel and Mamawander just called me now to say they have conveniently defied this rule and you should too.
You are your first appeal and I hope you know that *winks

8.Your shoes must match your bag.
Honestly, 5 years ago this was a real thing..I mean, pink shoes, pink bag = Slay Queen extraordinaire.
Anyways, now we know it is more interesting to mix things up and challenge colours and I’m sure you will too. You bag doesn’t have to match your shoes 😘

9. Sneakers shouldn’t be worn with a dress.
Lol..about this, you know when you take something from someone and it becomes soo yours, the original owner has to lend from you eventually, that’s the case of sneakers, dress and joggers.

10. Tall people should not wear heels
At this point, if you are a tall person, I need you to look in the mirror and say “I wasn’t made to fix people’s insecurities”. Kilode? Lol, apparently no one wants to be initmidated by your height, but feel free guys, our complaint is not valid! Or wait wai..Rakiamoctar wants to say something..

11.Horizontal stripes are not figure-complementing.
Cos they make you appear bigger than you are?
You dunno my figure, hanty. You dunno 😁

12. Do not go for more than one bold colour at a time.
Try it

13. Sweatshirts are too casual.
No they aren’t “too casual”. I know that for sure you can put in a twist. Check my post on “catching the neon vibes”

(opens in a new tab)

14. Don’t wear prints and patterns.
I was unable to get a complementing and modest image to this 1994 rule, but I promise to do a print// pattern challenge. Till then, get ready to wheel over this rule to LAWMA!

15. Buy clothes that are your size.
Ermm…I do not own a single size 6 top to my name. I for one am so attracted to bigger clothes and if you are too, let’s join a group chat and plan how to shoot arrows back at this rule maker. I’d make Hafymo a group admin. Yes, I love her!

I could go on, guys but I have to stop here. I hope you had fun reading.
Please, let me know in the comment section, which of these rules do you still follow and which rules did I miss out?

Disclaimer:- It is so easy to cancel funny rules, but applying yours to create a fashion statement quite requires one or two guides. Hence I will go through “Fashion rules you could embrace” really soon. I look forward to us together creating confidence in our looks.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have an amazing week ahead.
