Diet for Ramadan, the Styling Version

Diet for Ramadan, the Styling Version

Salaam alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatuh, guys. You’re welcome to StyledbyKeema, your modest fashion plug.

Alhamdulillah! Ramadaan is only in a few hours and I can’t help but allow the rush of emotions. The feeling of bliss, purity and relief all on a different level. Allahuma balignaa Ramadaan.

So guys, in order to reap the benefits of the Holy month to the very maximum, I decided to share a few tips on how to style properly and efficiently to encourage the range of Ibaadah we will like to engage in.

1. Choice of colour
Nah, I’m not going to bore you with all of that biology about homeostasis, you showever, know that while fasting, you would not want to lose more energy in form of heat just because you chose the wrong outfit colour.
Darker toned colours absorb and trap heat, such that you sweat and that way, lose energy. Which is why you should rather go for lighy colours to keep you cool all day.

2. Solah friendliness
I reckon that a lot of people take some aspects of Faith, Solah particularly more seriously in the Holy Month, and I doubt anyone would like to carry an after garment everywhere cos she wants to observe solah but isn’t well dressed for it. Hence, I recommend that you do even more covering outfits, such that you don’t have to carry any extra. Thank me for reducing your bag

3. Free sleeves!
One thing is solah friendly, wudoo friendly is another entirely. A fitted sleeve dress could do for solah, but Ablution? No, you dont want to get into the wudoo centre and take off your shirt cos it wouldnt lift up to wash your arms. I hope you get that drift already.

4. Two piece or more instead of one.
Now, if you aren’t a modest dresser on a regular, I reckon that you may not feel like yourself in a single piece of clothing that fulfils all the ease above. That’s why you should try more than a piece, like a skirt and a top. That way, it is easier to put together the core values from different pieces.

5. Comfort
I was contemplating on whether to add this or not, having emphasized it well enough, but Naah, the perks comfort cannot be over emphasized. While you want to give it all looking good and modest, you may come across slighly uncomfortable outfits like the maxi skirt whose waist band is 2 sizes smaller, kindly look away from that piece, darling. You don’t want to invest energy in trying to adjust yourself every now and then! We are on energy saving mode for 29 or 30 days please. Conserve battery.

You can take a cue from this 9-5 / Casual look during Ramadaan.
